Hi friends. Coming to Adelaide to give a couple of lectures. Can you suggest a couple of articles/blogs I might read to get a good overview of current issues in Australian politics? Unfortunately, US newspapers cover Australia lightly, if at all, so am hoping to educate myself in the hopes of having some better conversations.
Hi, well, you can always start with my publication www.onlineopinion.com.au, but maybe after you've read a bit on www.theaustralian.com.au and www.smh.com.au. The Australian is one of only two national newspapers and takes a centre right view. The Sydney Morning Herald is obviously in Sydney, but does a reasonable job of covering national as well. And if you want to know about Adelaide http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/. You'll need to take out a trial sub to the Oz. You might also look at www.afr.com.au, which is the site of the Australian Financial Review, but again, you have to pay.
Other online media worth reading beside mine are www.crikey.com.au and www.eurekastreet.com.au. There are too many blogs to name, but we've aggregated a number at www.domain.nationalforum.com.au.
