Hi there,

Just curious if you think the Euro currency should be discontinued or whether pulling it together is going to work?

Här i Sverige har vi fortfarande vår egen valuta och vår ekonomi fungerar ganska bra. Avsluta euron är en drastisk resultat men jag tycker det är möjligt.

That is only an option since the Euro is a very recent currency and therefore not yet fully implemented in the minds of the people. Would you, for instance, consider California or Texas to get its own currency, just as a way to get rid of the debt? I doubt that. In my opinion Europe needs to hang together, or hang separately.

Sinus - we might allow California to have its own currency but no one would ever accept it. The state is on the verge of bankruptcy. I suspect that only Greece has a lower debt rating.

The Euro is more than a currency, it's a symbol. The Euro makes possible to travel across countries, that were enemies just 100 years ago, without even changing money. The Euro is one step in uniting an area of common culture -- and by the way, I do believe that it can be profitable for everyone.

The Euro cannot survive in it's current form. Either the Euro will be split into two currencies (one for southern europe and one for northern europe) or it will break down and each country will revert back to their national currencies pre-1999
