Bonjour!!! So, I will be living in Paris for a month and have a coule weekends off. Where would you recommend to go for a weekend trip within France.? Other than Versailles and Normandy, is there any hidden Gem? Maybe a castle? Or a small town known for the best croissants in the world? Merci

You shoud try Southern France, There are many small marvelous villages by the Mediterranean : Villefranche-sur-mer for example. You should also try Aix en Provence and go to the Calanques de Cassis! Marvellous Brittany is a great place as well, the coasts, the seafood, lots of hidden places to discover.

Hope you enjoy!

Lots of Roman ruins in South France ( Nimes, esp), great museum there, if you like history; East France lots of WWI battlefields and US/Alleid cemeteries - we loved Verdun and its area. Prehistoric stuff in W France , Perigueux region; WWII battlefields, etc in NW France. Obviously, we like history - but look up your particular interests on the internet. France has everything!
