Are there any native forests in the United Kingdom?

Hi, there are some remnants of the Caledonian Forest in Scotland, mostly in the Cairngorm National Park. You can walk through area of it near Aviemore, which is beautiful. Plenty of Red Squirrels!

Yes it does, the UK has loads of Forests and woods, we're a very green country. www.woodlandtrust.org.uk is a conservation charity providing protection and information on all UK's woods and forests. Off the top of my head I'd say The New Forest in Hampshire and Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire are maybe the best known ones - at least to me!

Yes, you have Sherwood Forest (think: Robin Hood) = www.sherwoodforest.org.uk, and the New Forest where there are wild ponies (New Forest Ponies) actually running free = www.thenewforest.co.uk. « Read less

Scotland is vast with forrests and natural untouched land and you are never more than an hours drive to beautiful landscapes from anywhere in Scotland.
