Greetings! If I were going to rent a home for a couple months in Italy and just wanted to stay in one place, where would you suggest?

I agree. I also stayed in a quiet little village called Civita Castellana for a couple weeks and took a train into Rome on some days. It was brilliant. There are good restaurants in town and a quaint hotel whose name escapes me.
