Here in New Mexico, USA, people like to follow the Hispanic traditions and light rows of 'luminarias' which are small brown paper bags, lunch bags if you will, with a lighted candle inside and sand in the bottom for weight. Rows of luminarias make a festive appearance in pretty much any location.

Here in Australia we have beautiful sunshine at Christmas time. Many , many people spend their time at the beach.
