Hi! I live in Seattle, WA, USA. What is it like for foreigners to visit Bulgaria in the summertime? Is the Black Sea coast just resorts and hotels, or are there undeveloped places to see that are still nice?
There is very nice places :) Not only hotels :) South Black sea is realy beautiful :)
You could search камен бряг This is one of the places i love. North coast of the Black Sea, still wild, poor, with occasional golf resorts :) Vast fields, wind turbines all the way from Varna to Vama veche Romania You're welcome :)
most foreigners come to bulgaria with the sole idea of practicing "alcohol tourism" - you can get wasted and the consequences wont be as harsh as in the u.s.
if you dont really have that in mind, i suggest going to the mountains, its not as corrupted with cement as it is on the coast, you can still catch the last fresh air there is, if you are looking for some partying or whatever, check my first line again, not that you wont be able to party in the mountains, but i would prefer them over the sea
