Hawaii is a great place to live. The pros are: 1. Diverse when it comes to culture, religion, and food 2. Weather. No blizzards, tornados, dust storms, heat waves, etc... 3. Beaches. Clean and beautiful. My favorite is Waimanalo Bay on Oahu. 4. Great people. Family oriented community. 5. A lot of private schools.

The cons are: 1. Cost of living 2. Poor public school system 3. Lack of good paying jobs

Pretty much in agreement with Lisa. It also depends which island you visit. I am from the Big Island of Hawaii. It tends to be very laid back and community oriented. Everyone knows everyone and looks out for one another. Though food is expensive there were many farmer's markets in our area that were pretty affordable and supported the local residents.
