I've always wondered "What are other countries impressions of Ireland?" That is with or without ever actually being here.

Ireland has a beautiful countryside. I think what most of the Ireland Fans (me as well) like, is the mixture of countryside, deep understanding of music, pub culture and the more relaxing way the Irish live their lifes. This is my personal view but I share it with many friends from Germany. My favorite spot in Ireland is Dingle ;)

Angela's Ashes is a fantastic book but i believe it paints a rather dull and frightening picture of life in Ireland (at times). Ireland has changed a lot in recent times, unfortunately carrying over some american and british culturalism. Dingle is one of the most beautiful places in the world

I don't know much about Ireland, but the word brings forth images of a rural countryside with leprechauns and clover.

The impression I get is that it's beautiful green landscape, overcast/rainy and great pubs where fellas meet to drink and fight.

I love Ireland. The people have the most beautiful accents and are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Can't wait to visit again!

Most people think of Ireland as a beautiful land, albeit cold and rainy most of the year. They think of Irish as happy / jolly / fun people who are also quite pleasant and hard working, but also not particularly ambitious. And yes - the myths and leprechaun and other aspects of Ireland definitely play significantly in the minds of most.

My impression of Ireland of what my Grandfather has told my mother when was still alive is how beauty his homeland is, and how nice the family is there. The culture is what i want to learn about, the traditions, and what not.
