To fellow US citizens, do you think that the ability of corporations to fund political campaigns affects the politics of our country? Would you support a constitutional amendment with the aim of reversing citizens united and eliminating corporate funding of elections? I want to know what you think, and to let you know that there's an organization called wolf-PAC that wants to achieve this. This is their proposed draft for a 28th amendment:
"Corporations are not people. They have none of the Constitutional rights of human beings. Corporations are not allowed to give money to any politician, directly or indirectly. No politician can raise over $100 from any person or entity. All elections must be publicly financed."
I think that the government is very transparent in its support of corporations at the expense of the constituents, and that these special interests are also the reason that the government continues to engage in the wars in the middle east, continues to ignore climate change, etc. That is why I support this constitutional amendments. Thoughts?
