Snow removal done for now, but afternoon again back out to clean snow... and tomorrow morning :D Temperature outside is -9.5°C / 15°F (not cold and neither warm ;) )

Hopefully tomorrow will be sunshine, at least according to the forecast, so maybe I can make some shots of our today's winter.

Do you live near the sea? Is all of Estonia cold in the winter?

Hi! Not really, it's about 40-50 km (or 25-31 miles) to the sea from my village. Average temperature in winter is about -25°C / -13°F, but sometimes it drops to -35°C / -31°F (it has happened even -40°) and sometimes is only -10°C / 14°F; every year it's different. Our weather (including winter) is usually volatile, i.e. it changes quite often (today may be warm, tomorrow cold and day after tomorrow warm again). And this is the case all over Estonia, although the West-Estonian islands may have slightly milder winter.

Hello jyri78!

Estonia is now a country I would LOVE to visit after seeing the messages on Harnu. Today in Seattle is sunny, about 50 degrees. Great day for a hike in the mountains but I have to study all day. :(

Question about Estonia: Is it true that people live longer b/c they eat more fish and enjoy nature more?

Enjoy the day. Love to see a photo. Mali

Hello Mali!

We live longer compared to whom? By official statistics the average life expectancy in Estonia for men is about 69 years and for women 79 years (I found on the net, that in USA is it a bit higher). And yes, we eat fish (not everyone), but probably not more than people in Asia. Fish as a main dish was here in the old days, but today this is no longer so. About nature, for example over half of Estonia's territory is covered by forest and about third of territory is covered by agricultural land. So we have what to enjoy ;)
