I like photography. so how can i improve my photography skill?
Hi - what kind of camera are you using? I'm not an expert but can maybe help a little. However, the real photography experts on Harnu that I know of are @alvin1967 and @octarina8
Greetings from Seattle by the way!
Im using Nikon DSLR D3000 only. I don't know how to make the picture looks more sharp and photogenic without editting.
Do you have any examples so we can see what you're talking about?
for example that koala bear. I dont see the art of the picture :/
Sorry - Which koala bear?
This.
I posted it already.
Ah - now I see. Ok, well that just looks like a composition thing, right? Easily fixable!
Cool that you saw a koala up close though. We only have them in the local zoo ;-)
So what can i do to make it look better ? :p haha this is not in Malaysia. Its in Australia.
Well, for this particular shot off the top of my head I would have tried to clear the leaves to get a better view of the koala :-) I'd also have tried to avoid the car in the background. Then, I would have thought about the rules of thirds. Here's a quick set of composition tips I Googled http://www.photographymad.com/pages/view/10-top-photography-composition-rules
Okay thanks a lot i will try to explore more about photography :) By the way, do you know any photo editor software ? The best one.
Hi! I personally use Gimp (http://www.gimp.org) and it's good enough for me ;) After all, it doesnt matter how good software is, it all depends on your skills :D
Oh, one more thing. Skills are coming with experiencies, so take one shot after another ;) And test various camera options, dont be affraid using manual settings (usually shutter speed and/or apperture value are good enough) and avoid using automatic settings. If taking photos of nature, then I would avoid using date/time stamp on image.
I use Photoshop Elements and also a program called Photomatix http://www.hdrsoft.com/
It would be interesting to make some HDR photos, but right now I dont have enough free assets to buy software :( And with compact camera... hmm... it would be quite interesting challenge to try this ;)
It's really fun. I've tried it out only a little. Here's one in particular where I created multiple copies, changed the lighting, and then merged the various copies.
And here are a couple more where I was trying out various shutter speeds. As you can see, I'm definitely not an expert but I do enjoy it :-)
Second image is pretty interesting ;) On my camera there is option for bracketing (takes 3 photos with different exposures), it's the closest way for HDR, if at all with camera I own (of course SLR would be much better). I haven't even tested it, but last time our weather hasn't been sunny neither :(
Thanks you guys for those information. i will try to improve my photography skill :D and try those editing.
I tested today a bit about making HDR (my very first time on this). First image, well, I forgot to change WB options from my previous play :D
its really nice! even though it is your first try. im going to try on editing too.
It's my first try on HDR photography ;) But photograpy and editing overall, well this I have done a little more time :D
Nice job @jyri78 - HDR is fun! :-)
