I absolutely agree with you. It feels like you we heard the word "environment / global warming" being mentioned more often by the candidates in the past election versus the most recent.

"Global warming" does seem to be avoided in discussions. Interestingly, several years ago in graduate school I researched and wrote a paper on the computer modeling of temperature increases. Today, the numbers are very close to what research indicated at that time.
