My thought for you: take a job that involves a lot of international travel. I have done that and it's amazing what you can get a chance to do while being paid to do it. Traveling the world while working is obviously a bit of an art (from a time management standpoint), but it's far superior to trying to save up money and travel. And there's really a double-benefit: as you fly, you typically earn miles that are yours, not your firm's, so you can use those for even more free travel.
