anyone used foam rollers for exercise?
Not since this morning! Seriously, I was just working the foam roller into the old hamstring an hour ago. I love them - even have a travel-sized one.
Here are some other tricks and low-cost alternatives: fill a plastic water bottle and freeze it. Makes a great roller for your foot, if you have any kind of arch issues (plantar fasciatis, etc). Also: tennis balls and softballs work great for massaging the IT band. Painful at first, but you'll get used to it.
Never used a foam roller but i have heard about its benefits as being a form of self- massage to relax or release tight muscles. Do you work out using one?Do they work?
