My name is Allison. I am an actor living in New York City. I am currently working on a project that requires I speak one sentence in Lithuanian. The sentence is: Tu mane uzknisai. If anyone there has the ability to help me with pronouncing this sentence correctly, I'd be so grateful! #language
I really hope you do understand, that this sentence means "You annoy me". I'm not sure if it's the best saying for the project :) And the correct word is "užknisai", which is considered as slang. Anyways, I'll try to help with the pronunciation of "Tu mane užknisai". "Tu" - [tu] is simple, pronounced like the spanish or french tu. "Mane" [ma.nə] - short a, and short ə, like in ketchup. "Užknisai" - [uʒ.kni.sai] U is short oo, and it's important to pronounce K clearly (not like in knitting or know), like K in color, and N in nothing. In the last part, sai, A is like in android.
Hope this helps you :)
Thank you for your help! And especially for the very clear pronunciation guide. I am sorry to introduce such a negative saying to Harnu :). Don't worry, I will only use if for my acting project, not on the streets of New York! I am so grateful for your help!
Hi Allison, And if you want to master the "Tu" sound in spanish, it would be like pronouncing "to" in english but short. In some sort of Imperative mode.
Ask it to Jonas TRINKUNAS from Cultural Movement ROMUVA in Lithuania...
