For all the talk about prevention, the actions of world leaders towards the tragic developments in Syria reflect more a deep-seated belief in the inevitable than the preventable. Thirty thousand innocent people have been killed and millions made homeless because no one had the courage to challenge an assumption, and a callous prophecy was thus allowed to fulfill itself.

Ammar, I don't think most people here in the States believe that what's unfolded has been inevitable. That seems to imply that people here have even considered the situation in Syria. Instead, I'd suggest that most people simply aren't aware, and that Syria hasn't even registered in their consciousness. For regular Americans, and I know this is going to sound hopelessly naive, but what action can we take that you think would make a difference?
Could you elaborate on the assumption you mention? I would like to know more.
it makes difference to spread awareness globally .. the more the better . thanks to all those who have sympathy with the greatest disaster in the 21st century
