Is scopolamine, or devil's breath as serious as documentaries and news make it out to be in Columbia? #travel

Scopolamine has been used in the past to treat addiction to drugs such as heroin and cocaine. It is sometimes reported by the media as method by which people are raped, killed, or robbed.

Like any drug it should only be used in the correct dosage and for the right indications. It is not a very sensible drug for recreational use, if there is such a thing! OVERDOSAGE CAN CAUSE HALLUCINATIONS AND COMA OR EVEN DEATH.

It is used medically but not a lot these days, mainly to treat nausea if other medications are ineffective.

And interestingly, a reference on the wikipedia entry says that the drug was responsible for one in 5 ER admissions in Colombia ! (2005)

Yea, to be truth full it is a pretty crazy thing, in its natural state it can make you see things kinda like an acid trip but ones its been process it becomes something else, very strong and very dangerous some people related to black magic do to the zombie effect that creates in people.
