Hi, I am a high school teacher in the western United States, who will be reading a number of books about India and Pakistan. Very exciting! I spent some time in India years ago visiting New Delhi, Bagdogra, and Darjeeling. Never made it south, though.
For my class, I am curious about movies which people in India think of as their best movies ( I know about Slumdog, Gandhi, Passage to India) and ones which an American teenager might enjoy watching. I am also looking for someone in India or Pakistan who might be available to chat throughout the year (on Harnu, I suppose) about what it is like there, etc. Look forward to hearing from you! #education
Hi Smaddrey, I know that I am not an Indian people. But i have the same interest in the movies that you have been watching (Gandhi etc)... yes, that's very recommend movies to watch in your class. Also this movie is good " My name is Khan".
Hi smaddey. I am not an expert on Indian movies but I can certainly talk about the sub-continent's socio-and geo-political issues from regional as well as global perspective. My assessments and opinions are mainly formed through books and other forms of media though, rather than the Bollywood.
